Calling All Practicing Catholics
Practicing Catholics, between the ages of 18 through 35, come to a crossroad in our lives when we discover who we are (well, most of us. Some take a little longer). We decide which career path to take, which friends to hang out with, what principles define who we are and how we want to live our lives. Whichever way we decide it all plays out, we must remember that we are the children of our heavenly Father, Christ is our Lord, our blessed mother in heaven is Mary, and the Holy Spirit grants us gifts to be holy. Through our baptism we are a part of this mystical Body of Christ, his Church in communion with the saints. We are all called to holiness together; you, me, and all of us.
Stay Connected on the JourneyThere are plenty of Catholic resources that help us transform and conform to the Truth of Christian teaching. These resources help us along our journey to sainthood. However, Catholic resources can be scattered throughout the information world. With the use of communications, information technology, and social media, obtaining the Truth should be more feasible. Cathopillar connects Practicing Catholics to that information. Practicing Catholics can use these resources to enrich their faith and develop their holiness. Furthermore, they are called to use the information to spread the news of Christ’s message in this world as well.
The New EvangelizationPope Paul VI called for an Evangelization in the Modern World, Pope John Paul II re-launched this message as the New Evangelization, and Pope Benedict XVI continues this message for today’s Catholics. The goal of Cathopillar is to aid the church militant in the mission of the New Evangelization called by our Church. Although differently executed, evangelizing the Gospel of Christ is as relevant today as it was when Christ established his church on Pentecost.
Cathopillar: Transforming to the Pillar of Truth that is the Church
The Catholic Church has been speaking the same message since Pentecost. Cathopillar stands behind this Church, which is the pillar and foundation of Truth. Inspired by scripture and in unity with the Catholic faith, Cathopillar gets its name. “If I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth” - 1 Timothy 3:15.
Practicing Catholics are Called to ActionAs Practicing Catholics, we must take action. In much of the Cathopillar website are links to dependable Catholic websites and blogs. We should connect with them and share them with the multitudes. There are video and audio such as songs, music videos, and movie trailers. Pass them along. There is crucial news, education, and advice. Inform others. There are charities, help and jobs. Bless them so that our gifts are multiplied. Use Facebook, Twitter, email, and other useful social media. Spread the faith. Have discussions with others like-minded or not. Cathopillar is not about bringing people to one place, but is about sending people out to other places and people to share God’s love and truth.
